- 燕のように軽快に飛ぶ、きわめてまれな迷鳥。
- ■形態
- 雌雄同色。
頭部は光沢のない黒褐色で。嘴は短く、太く、青灰色。虹彩は黒い。背から翼は光沢のない黒褐色で腰と上尾筒は白い。光沢のない黒褐色の尾は短く角尾。胸から下は白い。脚は灰黒色。

Andaman Is. and Coco Is. (n of Andaman Is.)で繁殖する亜種A.l.humei、
Sulawesi and satellites, including Banggai Is. (e of Sulawesi) and Lombok to Timor and Wetar (Lesser Sundas)で繁殖する亜種A.l.albiventer、
Babar (far e Lesser Sundas) and Tanimbar Is. (s Moluccas) で繁殖する亜種A.l.musschenbroeki、
Moluccas, New Guinea and satellites, and n, e Australiaで繁殖する亜種A.l.leucopygialis、
Grande Terre, Ile des Pins, and Lifou and Mare (c, e Loyalty Is.; New Caledonia)で繁殖する亜種A.l.melaleucus、
Vanuatu including Banks Is.で繁殖する亜種A.l.tenuis。

- マレー半島、インドネシア、フィリピン、スマトラ、ジャワ、ニューギニア、オーストラリア北部、東部、フィジーに分布する。
日本では1973年４月と1986年3月に西表島で観察されたのみ。
